From: Nathaniel Winters, Administrator of city Eight.
To: Selected Union civil authority members.
To whom it may concern: Project Omega has been commenced. This was a plan that had been in the works for a while now and we feel it necessary to start this program immediately. What you are about to read is classified information and the leaking of said information is punishable in amputation. We also regret to inform you that if you have been sent this message, you cannot decline it.
Project Omega is an experimental program, and you have been selected for participation. You express qualities above and beyond other ground units. Whether this be due to combat experience, survival skills, or simply skill in your chosen division, you have been selected for transfer to sector 109-103-45. The commonly accepted term for this sector is the “outlands.”
All units receiving this message have been cleared by high command, civil administration, divisional leads and the sectorial commanders of their given cities. Your transfer papers have already been signed and you are to be shipped out as soon as possible with a group of your local overwatch detachment to sector 109-103-45. From then on, you are to answer to the O.W.L. and follow their orders.
From there, you will begin your assignment, the details of which I shall now list:
From deployment, you are to receive your equipment, you will be then be given training by an instructor to prepare you for the environment you are about to enter.
Once deployed, you are considered undercover and will conduct yourself accordingly. Your mission is to integrate with the local refugee population to gather information and potentially apprehend various valuable targets, pending the orders of the overwatch detachment you are deployed with. As stated before, leaking this information will result in amputation or permanent off-world reassignment. You have been warned.
There will be two areas that will serve as a base for you. The converted dam and the recently uncovered missile silo. You will provided equipment there and the silo will provide a base which shall serve your needs in terms of housing and nourishment. The conditions however, will not be as good as they were when you were in the city. Nothing can be done about this, however you will be given equipment on a regular basis and the replicators should keep you supplied with the basics.
With your change of station, and most likely equipment, comes a change of divisions.
Phantom is the only division. You will have to be proficient in all fields. You are to be living weapons.
Despite these divisions however, you will be infiltration units primarily, and combat units when you need to be.
